Why Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank delayed their engagement

Oh oh.

By Rebecca Fearn.

Every future bride wants them to be in the spotlight during their engagement, but it seems that Princess Eugenie had to wait for her turn.

Reports showed up that Eugenie and Jack – to marry on October 12th – had to postpone their engagement to Prince Harry’s proposal to Meghan Markle.

Allegedly, the couple had already decided to marry last year, but because of the upcoming king Harry and Meghan’s weddingthey had to postpone their official engagement and announcement.

A source revealed the details Vanity Fair: “I understand that Eugenie and Jack decided some time ago that they would like to get married, and there was talk of a wedding in 2017, but they had to wait for Harry to go first.”

This shift has left Eugenie’s closest and dearest feeling that she now deserves a big wedding:

“The feeling among the Yorks is that they deserve their spotlight moment and a grand royal wedding with all the bells and whistles,” added the source.

However, it sounds like Eugenie was pretty calm about the whole thing: “There are no bad feelings at all. Eugenie is very close to Harry and she knows how the system works. “

Roll on October 12th – we hope the princess gets the big day she’s been waiting for!
